Say Yes joined with Mental Marginalia to organize a reading at Pen & Brush’s Literary Takeover. The badass lineup included Amy Lawless, La Bruja, Christie Ann Reynolds, Heeyen Park, Ruwa Alhayek, Jane LeCroy, Candice Lee and Pablo Modesto. Pen & Brush’s beautiful space features interactive art. The Typewriter Project is set up in the gallery space, along with lots of chalk inviting everyone in the crowd to write on the walls.
Swing by their space sometime and add to the projects!
The next Say Yes will feature another incredible group of artists in Bushwick on Saturday, February 20th. Get more info and follow Say Yes Electric Collective on facebook.
Here’s a few shots from our gorgeous Say Yes showcase at the Bowery Poetry Club this week. I also read at The New School’s student reading yesterday, and was absolutely wowed by the massive talent of my peers. I’ll be reading next Friday at Sam O’Hana’s Poet’s Country Club. Clockwise from top left: me, Jerron Herman, Revi Roza and Hayden Eager, and Ty Douglas. Thank you to Pacha Nukanchik for the photographs.
On another note, I always celebrate when I get a rejection letter, because it’s proof I’m trying. But yesterday, I received my all-time favorite rejection letter:
